Course Structure
Total Units: 12 (3 core units and 9 elective units)
Core Units:
- TAEDES511 – Design and develop strategies for training and assessment
- TAEDES515 – Evaluate training
- TAEPDD511 – Maintain and enhance professional practice
Elective Units:
- At least 5 elective units must be selected from the chosen specialisation group (A, B, or C).
- Of the remaining elective units:
- At least 2 must be chosen from the elective units listed below.
- Up to 2 may be from any currently endorsed Certificate IV or above training package qualification or accredited course, provided that no more than 1 of these 2 units is from a Certificate IV qualification.
Elective units should be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment, and contribute to a valid vocational outcome for personnel in the VET sector working at this level.
Entry Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate current VET skills and knowledge relevant to the specialisation chosen in this qualification. This includes holding prerequisite units such as:
- TAEASS412 – Assess competence
- TAEASS413 – Participate in assessment validation
- TAEDEL411 – Facilitate vocational training
- TAEDES411 – Use nationally recognised training products to meet vocational training needs
These prerequisites ensure that learners have the foundational skills necessary for advanced study and practice in the VET sector.
Course Duration
The volume of learning for this qualification is typically between 1 to 2 years (1200 – 2400 hours), depending on prior experience and the chosen study mode.
