Entry Requirements

Entry to this qualification is limited to individuals who:

  • Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification in related fields of study and have three years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of project or program leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise. OR
  • Have completed a Bachelor degree in related fields of study and have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of project or program leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise. OR
  • Have five years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

Course Structure

Total Units: 8 (4 core units and 4 elective units)

  • BSBPMG810 – Prioritise projects and programs
  • BSBPMG811 – Select and balance the portfolio
  • BSBPMG812 – Manage and review portfolio performance
  • BSBPMG813 – Govern the portfolio

Elective Units:

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the integrity of the AQF alignment, and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome. Some elective options include:

  • BSBFIN801 – Lead financial strategy development
  • BSBLDR811 – Lead strategic transformation
  • BSBLDR812 – Develop and cultivate collaborative partnerships and relationships
  • BSBLDR813 – Lead and influence ethical practice
  • BSBPMG814 – Lead the portfolio
  • BSBPMG815 – Manage portfolio communications and change

Note: Up to two elective units may be selected from a Graduate Diploma from this or any other currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Pathway

For individuals with substantial experience in portfolio management roles, the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathway offers an opportunity to have existing skills and knowledge formally recognized. This process involves:

  • Providing evidence of relevant work experience and prior learning.
